Ffuunn ttiimmeess of course! TALADANATELA MIX-MEDIA ART EXHIBITION
Casa CarioKa welcomed Australian curator, Karina Reyes-Antonio, to hold a mix-media art exhibition heralding the work of six local and international artists experimenting in graffiti, photography, installation, canvas and video. ARTISTS: Leandro TiCK, Aaron FIRESTEIN, Vinícius CASH, Nate OVELAR, Fernando CAZÉ, Fabio EFIXIS.
The initiative arose as a direct reaction of the curator´s experience volunteering as an art teacher in Rio with a local graffiti artist, and the aspiration to bring together as varied an audience to appreciate an ´art exhibition´ as occurs with such ease on the streets of Rio, when viewing graffiti. The exhibition enjoyed an excellent reception with live music by Trio Pablo y Tierra Firma, an active Artist Talk between the artists and the audience, affording the viewers to weave through the exhibition space and appreciate and actively question art in its varied forms and contexts. Check out taladanatela blog for more details. STILL TO COME... Casa CarioKa has plans to host live samba music events, and to hold open-mic nights inviting local and international artists to perform in music, literature, theatre, dance and the arts.
